What We Are Doing to Keep You Safe During COVID-19
We want to reassure you that we are taking many steps to help ensure the protection of our patients and staff. We continue to monitor and implement guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and New York State. Although the strictest medical office hygiene and sanitization procedures have always been utilized in our office, we are implementing additional measures during this current COVID reality that we find ourselves in. Some of our pre-existing procedures and newly adopted procedures include:
- All staff and patients are prescreened for any symptoms prior to their appointments
- Facemasks are required of all patients and staff while in our office
- Telemedicine appointments continue to be offered as needed to reduce exposure when possible and feasible
- The waiting room is kept to minimal use, near empty at all times, by the following:
- Preregistration is done prior to one’s appointment via our Patient Portal
- Appointments are being scheduled at a low volume with little to no overlap
- Patients’ vehicles are being used as an “extension” of our waiting room when needed
- Visitors are asked to remain in the vehicle unless required for assistance or to accompany a minor
- Most seats have been removed from use to facilitate appropriate social distancing
- The office continues to be staffed at a lighter capacity as some staff members work from home
- Partial plexiglass partitions have been placed at the front desk
- Exam rooms are sanitized of all patient contact areas after each patient
- A professional cleaning service that specializes in medical offices, ambulatory surgical centers, and operating rooms sanitizes the entire office at the end of the day after each office session
- Hand sanitizer is always available to patients
- Every exam room is furnished with a sink, allowing patients to wash their hands at any time
- All elective surgery is being performed at facilities that require pre-operative COVID testing off ALL of their patients
